Our Racks

Rack space in two Zürich datacentres, priced by height units and power, with the cost shared fairly between members.

Our Racks

We run colocation racks in two Zürich datacentres, colozüri.ch and NTT Rümlang. Membership of the association is a precondition for using them.

The datacentres

  • 47 height units (colozüri.ch) / 46 height units (NTT Rümlang)
  • Two power circuits
  • 24/7 access
  • Gas fire suppression
  • Backup power
  • Redundant cooling
  • Access control
  • Video surveillance

What you get

  • Two power feeds on two separate circuits
  • Two network ports
  • Network and power cabling (on loan)
  • 24/7 access, via the members who hold rack access

The racks sit on our own network.

Pricing

Pricing is based on the number of height units your device occupies and its power draw. Every height unit comes with an included power allowance.

Zero-U devices — a Raspberry Pi, an Intel NUC or similar — are charged at a reduced rate, because they do not occupy a full height unit.

See what it costs for the current rates, and the acceptable use policy for the rules that govern the rack.

Getting your hardware in

Send your requirements to support@communityrack.org. See how hardware gets into the rack for the details we need from you.

Behind the scenes

The operations group keeps the racks running with its own tooling: Confluence, GitLab, Puppet, Netbox, pass, LibreNMS and Cachet.
